The Story
This new cottage is located a top of a 40′ sloped fully treed lake side property. As the Architects we wanted the house to “hug” the natural contours of the site and horizontally fit into the natural landscape. We also incorporated a long continuous horizontal overhang to shade the large water front windows and reduce the solar summer gains but allow for amazing views of the lake while provide slender slit like windows that “frame” the outside landscape like picture frames on the wall.
