The Story
This cedar clad residence is located in a desirable neighbourhood close to downtown Ottawa. It rests on a forty foot fully treed natural escarpment boasting an amazing panorama of the city. From the outset of the project the client expressed a firm vision to develop a house that would suit their young family, create a social interactive kitchen area and provide interconnected open areas.
The overall look of the home was created by playing with simple and clean geometric forms and the end result compliments the clients’ characters and personalities. Clear views to the outdoors take full advantage of the favorable setting and utilize the abundance of natural light made possible by the site’s elevation. The design responds to the site by way of a two-storey open living room, large sliding glazed doors, commercial full height glazing and a walk-out rooftop patio with hot tub.
