Constructed by Amsted Construction the former neighbourhood store, which sits on the northern edge of the Glebe and is now a combination home and small business, won the “green renovation award of the year” (Ottawa Housing Design Awards 2009).  From solar hot water heating, bullfrog electricity, reclaimed wood and eco-friendly fly-ash concrete etched cladding this exterior renovation was focused on “green” and reducing its environmental impacts from the beginning.  The project also won honours for “best housing detail award”.
