Black corrugated steel lets the forest do the talking outside. Inside, the script flips: warm wood ceilings, bright open rooms, and floor-to-ceiling windows framing the lake.
Ruby Cottage
Val-des-Monts

Dark-clad and hovering above the Canadian Shield on slender steel stilts, Ruby Cottage disappears into the forest, until you’re inside. Then it opens up: bright, calm, and entirely focused on the lake.

Camouflage as Intent

Room for Everyone
Single-level living, three bedrooms, a screened-in porch, and a covered terrace. Designed from the start so the whole family: kids, grandkids, whoever, can come and go freely.

"Blasting was never an option. The rock stays. The cottage just had to find another way."
