High-Rise Loft Apartments
Ottawa

The developer wanted to create a new, high-rise design that would attract tenants to a highly commercial area not previously attractive to residents. The site is located just outside of downtown, close to the newly built, light rail transit line and within walking distance to a shopping centre.

The design solution centered on cool, loft style apartments, shared amenities and green space for residents as well as a "sky bridge" linking two towers.

A Sheltered Colonnade

A Sheltered Colonnade

Access to the ground floor commercial spaces are sheltered by a colonnade.

Podium Levels

The first four floors of the building were designed to be reminiscent of an old warehouse and bring the perceived scale of the building down. The upper floors are set back from the podium to reduce impact on the streetscape.

Floorplan & Mezzanine

This two-bed, two-bath, loft style apartment features double-height spaces in all the main living areas. Coloured windows provide an ever-changing wash of colour all year long and the mezzanine doubles as a WFH space.

WFH Done Right.

WFH Done Right.

Comfortable and efficient. Good lighting, views, worktop, storage and electrical are essential to creating a space where the best "work" is possible.

Raw Loft Design

Precast concrete wall and ceiling panels provide character and texture to the raw loft and serve to contrast the minimalist design in the rest of the unit.

Shared courtyard and rooftop terrace provide ample outdoor amenity space.
The bridge links the two towers and provides access to a public rooftop restaurant.
