A-Frame Chalet
Mont Ste Marie

This A-frame chalet is nestled atop the hills in south-western Québec. It's built into the mountainside with views onto the ski hill and high above the lakes and rivers below.

Inspired by ski chalets in the Alpes, the A-frame is supported by massive Douglas Fir wood beams with large windows that open up into the surrounding forest and mountain.

A-Frame Reimagined

The matte-black A-frame folds into the slope, blurring roof and wall. From some views it disappears; from others, it commands the landscape.

The custom dinning table was made on Fogo Island off the coast of Newfoundland.

Timber At The Core

Sixteen Douglas Fir beams—massive, warm, and exact—form the structural and visual heart of the home.

"This chalet rethinks the traditional alpine A-frame. Rooted in the land, shaped by light, rock and wood, it’s designed to nurture connection and a sense of peace”
