At the end of the last decade, Shopify grew exponentially. There was an insatiable demand for office space. Construction and design for these spaces happened simultaneously and incredibly quickly.

Urban Theme

Urban Theme

This theme takes inspiration from urban cultures from around the world where traditional commercial take place. Incorporates the works of graffiti artists, and the use of textured materials like brick, concrete, and wood from shipping palettes.

A Go-Kart track's walls are adorned by the work of local, urban artists.
Mountain Theme

Mountain Theme

A nod to Shopify's genesis - an online snowboard shop. This theme incorporates mountain adventuring. These are cedar plank & copper-trimmed "tents".

Nailed it!

In a survey about employee satisfaction, the overwhelming majority of Shopifolk are happy with the spaces provided to work in.

Reveal Theme

Reveal Theme

This theme celebrates the inner mechanical and electrical components of the building with colour and texture.

This textured wall is reminiscent of roofing tiles.

Design Insight - Detailing

Detailing throughout the space was important. How materials come together in a practical and beautiful way.

Metro Theme

Metro Theme

This theme borrows inspiration from metro and subway networks across the globe; New York, Montreal, Paris, London, and Moscow.

Yellow lines incorporate the idea of wayfinding in subway stations.
1960's Theme

1960's Theme

Stemming from a love of mid-century modern, this floor features organic and geometric shapes, minimal ornamentation, and mix of neutral colours and bold patterns.
