The design starts with the church. Instead of separating from it or trying to compete, the new building wraps gently around the existing structure. We echoed some of the church’s key architectural rhythms and materials without copying them — allowing the two buildings to speak to each other in a quiet, respectful way.

Evergreen on Blackburn is a new mid-rise residential project in Sandy Hill — one of Ottawa’s oldest and most character-rich neighbourhoods. The 121-unit development connects directly to a key piece of local heritage: the former All Saints Church, now home to Working Title, a much-loved restaurant and event venue.

Tying New to Old

Sustainability: Built for Better Living
From the start, sustainability shaped every decision — from the systems we used to the finishes we selected. The building meets both LEED Platinum and One Planet Living standards, going well beyond the basics.
